The 2024 rivian r1t adventure dual motor standard pack is the latest in a lineup of electric pickups that include Tesla Cybertruck and F-150 Lightning. With innovative storage spaces like a frunk and Gear Tunnel, plus trick aerodynamics and a massive battery, the five-passenger R1T packs big truck capabilities in a body about a foot shorter than an F-150.
Rivian offers three battery pack options – Standard, Large and Max – and a few combinations of front and rear motors. The base Adventure dual-motor configuration uses a motor on each axle to deliver all-wheel drive, producing 533 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque in the process, enough to accelerate from zero to 60 in 4.4 seconds. A Performance dual-motor version boosts output to 665 hp, which is more than enough to take on any off-road terrain the world can throw at it.
2024 Tesla Model X: What to Expect from the Latest Release
On the inside, the 15.6-inch touchscreen controls most vehicle commands and is arranged closer to the driver for easier access. A swipe of the R1T image on the screen accesses drive modes, while the instrument cluster features more granular data for elevation, tire pressure and trip meters.
The rear seat flips forward for cargo room, and a smart gear tunnel between the crew-cab cabin and short bed keeps gear secure. Rivian’s signature design is clean and elegant, and the company offers several options to add comforts like heated and cooled power seats. The R1T also comes standard with a rearview camera and an impressive suite of safety features that earned it a Top Safety Pick+ rating. Rivian’s ports follow J1772 and CCS standards, so owners can charge at thousands of third-party Tesla-style fast chargers. The rig also offers a built-in DC fast-charge port on the driver’s side fender for quick stops.
